DESCRIPTION:The Palestinian powerhouse returns to the capital to launch their anticipated new album. Enthralling and electrifying\, 47soul السبعة و أربعين‘s iconic ‘Shamstep’ style is a potent combination of electronic hip-hop and traditional Palestinian street music. Formed in Jordan in 2013\, their signature sound/their high-energy music incorporates regional bass-heavy dance beats\, analogue synthesisers and hypnotic hooks. Their lyrics\, sung in both Arabic and English\, have come to embody a captivating celebration of movement and an irrefutable call for freedom and equality. Over the past seven years\, the band has played hundreds of international shows and festivals as well as bringing their iconic sound to NPR’s Tiny Desk and KEXP and racking up over 11 million views on their debut single ‘Intro To Shamstep’. Releasing their anticipated 2nd album\, the trio will be playing two shows at Camden’s The Jazz Cafe this summer. This event is brought to you in partnership with MARSM UK\, as part of our long-standing collaboration celebrating the burgeoning underground and alternative music scenes from the Middle East and North Africa.
